Kim Dunbar's plays include PORCHMONKEY, TACO MUNDO, THE GIVER, and BANNED AND BURNED IN AMERICA, (co-written with Bryan Davidson). Her plays have been developed/produced by Watts Village Theater Company, River Stage in Sacramento, Mark Taper New Work Festival, The Working Theater NYC, ASK Theater Labs, Crossroads Theater in New Brunswick and The Greenway Court Theater.
Kim studied theater at U.C. San Diego and The Juilliard School. In L.A. she was a member of The Mentor's Project and the Blacksmyths Playwrights Lab at The Mark Taper Forum.
Kim had the great fortune in 2006 to make a trip to South Africa with a small delegation of artists. Road to Ingwavuma, a documentary chronicling the journey, screens this month at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
This August, Kim's work will be part of Virginia Avenue Project's One on Ones.
